JetBlue opens BlueFirst bookings for December 8 debut

Illustrated aircraft cabin with two wide seats on each side of a central aisle.

JetBlue has opened bookings for BlueFirst, its new domestic first-class cabin. The first service is scheduled for December 8 on Flight 1169 from Boston to Fort Lauderdale.

Some flights between New York's LaGuardia Airport and Fort Lauderdale will add the cabin within a few days of the debut. More routes will follow in the coming months.

BlueFirst seats will be arranged in rows of two on each side of the aisle. Features include 13.3-inch seatback screens, Bluetooth headphone connectivity and five inches of recline.

Passengers will receive priority boarding and dedicated overhead bin space. A BlueFirst ticket alone will not provide access to JetBlue's BlueHouse lounges.

Availability will vary by departure as aircraft are refitted. The initial Boston-Fort Lauderdale schedule shows BlueFirst on only one of six daily nonstop flights, not every service on the route.
