New Windsor Locks Train Station Opens October 18
A newly built Windsor Locks train station in Connecticut will begin serving passengers October 18, Amtrak announced. It moves passenger rail and bus service closer to the town's center.
The station will serve Amtrak's Hartford Line, Northeast Regional, Valley Flyer and Vermonter routes, along with CTrail trains.
The relocation brings service from south of downtown to a central location near Main Street. For visitors, the change puts the station closer to downtown rather than at its previous site.
Amtrak describes the new station as accessible. The project also includes track and signal improvements intended to improve operational flexibility, reliability and capacity.
Windsor Locks station served 35,576 riders in fiscal year 2025. Travelers using its Amtrak routes or CTrail service from October 18 will be served at the new location near Main Street.
