Qatar Airways plans Doha to Western Sydney flights for December 2027
Qatar Airways plans a nonstop route between Doha and Western Sydney International Airport, according to an October 21 report by Simple Flying. The service is scheduled to start on December 15, 2027.
The airline plans to operate three flights a week initially, using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The route would give travelers another Australian airport option for flights through its Doha hub.
The reported schedule has departures from Doha on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Flights back from Western Sydney are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Western Sydney International, airport code WSI, is a different airport from Sydney Kingsford Smith, code SYD. The report lists both airports in Qatar Airways' planned Australian network.
A possible increase to daily flights by the end of 2028 depends on factors including demand, traffic rights and aircraft availability. For now, the reported plan is three weekly services, not daily flights.
