KLM plans October 30 A350 debut, with Toronto first
KLM plans to put its Airbus A350-900 into passenger service on October 30, according to an October 17 report from Simple Flying. The airline confirms Toronto will be its first destination.
The aircraft will fly from KLM's Amsterdam Schiphol hub. KLM's winter schedule lists 12 weekly Toronto flights, with five operated by the A350.
More destinations will follow as additional A350s join the fleet later this winter. KLM names Montreal, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Nairobi among the planned destinations.
KLM says the A350 has 331 seats across three cabins: 271 in Economy, 26 in Premium Comfort and 34 in World Business Class.
For travelers choosing a Toronto flight, the distinction is the aircraft rather than a new route. KLM's stated plan puts the A350 on five of the route's 12 weekly services, not every departure.
