Emirates puts proposed Berlin flights on hold

Emirates will not launch its proposed Dubai-Berlin service for now, according to an October 23 report by Simple Flying.

The report quoted airline president Tim Clark saying, "But we will not fly to Berlin at the moment." He spoke at the Routes World conference in Frankfurt.

This puts a prospective new connection on hold rather than removing an operating flight. Simple Flying's September 11 report said Emirates had not announced a launch date.

The airline has not ruled out returning to the plan. According to the October report, Clark said Emirates would reconsider once the unresolved concerns were addressed.

For travelers, the proposed Berlin route is therefore not an immediate addition to Emirates' network. Its existing German gateways are Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
