See Where Your Buyers Come From on TrekGuider
Find out which post, video or Pin brings buyers, and which one just collects likes.
You talk about your guides on Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Telegram and in your newsletter. Sales come in, but it's hard to tell what's driving them: yesterday's video, the link in your bio or a post from a month ago. Now you can see it in the new Marketing tab in Sales Analytics.
A separate link for every post
Click Create tracking link to get a short link that leads to your product. In the form, you choose:
- a product: any of your published products with a one-time price;
- a name so you'll recognize the link in your report, like "Dolomites video" or "Instagram bio link";
- a channel: Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, Telegram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, Email or Other;
- a campaign, if you want to group several links, like "Fall guides".
Copy the link and paste it into your post, video description, bio or email. You don't need to connect any social accounts for this.
Make a separate link for every post and every video. That way your report shows exactly which one worked.
What the report shows
You can see the report for the last 7 or 30 days or for any dates you choose.
- Tracked visits: how many times people arrived through your links.
- Orders from your links: how many orders were paid within 7 days of those visits.
- Purchase conversion: the share of visits that ended in a purchase.
- Sales from your links: how much people bought, after discounts.
Below that are three panels. Performance over time charts visits, orders and sales day by day. Where visits come from shows which channels bring people in. From visit to purchase shows the journey step by step: arrived, added to cart, opened checkout, bought. You can see where buyers drop off. If lots of people add your guide to their cart but don't check out, it's worth another look at the price or the description.
The What brings buyers table puts all your links side by side: visits, paid orders, conversion and sales for each.
The report counts visitors who allowed marketing cookies. The Marketing tab helps you see what works, and your exact totals and payouts are still on the Sales tab.
Pinterest stats next to your sales
If you promote your guides on Pinterest, connect your Pinterest business account. On the Marketing tab, click Connect social media, find Pinterest, agree to the policies and click Connect.
Once connected, you'll see impressions, saves, Pin clicks and outbound clicks for any dates within the last 90 days. To refresh the numbers, click Read live statistics. Access is read-only: we can't post Pins on your behalf.
Pinterest works best together with tracking links. Give each Pin its own link, and you'll see not only saves but also which Pins bring buyers to TrekGuider.
If you don't check your stats for a while, Pinterest will ask you to connect again. You can do that from Manage on the same tab, where you can also disconnect your account.
The other social networks in that window are marked Coming soon for now.
How to get started
Open Sales Analytics, go to the Marketing tab and make links for your three latest posts. Check back in a week, and you'll see which one brings buyers.
