Find out which tax information your account needs

Published
On this page

Your seller account shows the tax information needed for withdrawals. Completing payout setup and having a tax form approved are separate requirements.

Find the requested form

If Withdraw Funds is available, open it and read any tax notice. Use Add tax details, Fix Form, or Refresh Form when offered. If you already have a form on file, you can also check it in Documents. If neither entry is available, follow any tax-information request in your account or ask support where to complete it.

TrekGuider displays a W-9 or W-8BEN based on the US tax classification recorded for your account. This is not a choice to make simply from your current location or citizenship. If the form shown does not fit your tax records, contact support about correcting the account information before submitting it.

The current form is for individual sellers. Do not put a company, partnership, or trust into the individual-name fields to make the form fit.

Prepare the information the form requests

Use your legal name and address as they appear in your records. Depending on the form, you may also need tax identification details, country information, and your date of birth. Enter sensitive information only in the form itself.

Some details may already be filled in from your earlier information. Read them carefully rather than assuming they are current.

Understand the result

Submitting a form sends it for review. We've got your form or an under-review notice does not mean it has been approved. Check the review result and any correction note. Other payout requirements may still apply after approval.

Choose the relevant guide

For the submission and replacement process, read submit or update a tax form. You can also find your documents or check withdrawal requirements.
