Complete a W-9 for a US individual seller
On this page
Use this guide when TrekGuider asks you for a W-9. The form provides your taxpayer identification details and certification. Entering an ID number during initial seller setup does not complete this separate form.
TrekGuider selects the form using the US tax classification recorded for your account. If it does not match your circumstances, ask support to check the classification before you sign. A passport, profile country, or current travel location alone does not settle the question.
Complete the form
- Open the tax request from your account or withdrawal notice.
- Check Legal first name and Legal last name against your tax records.
- Enter your street address, city, state, and ZIP code. Check any information already filled in.
- Enter either your SSN or your EIN, as appropriate for your records. The form does not require both.
- Read the certification and select it only if the details are true, correct, and complete.
- Type your name in Electronic signature and select Send for review.
The current TrekGuider form is for an individual seller. It does not support substituting a company, partnership, or trust in the individual-name fields.
Check the review result
The form normally takes about two minutes to prepare when you have the information ready. That estimate is for filling it in, not approval. TrekGuider emails the review result.
If Something needs fixing appears, read the reason, correct the relevant field, and send the form again. Do not send an SSN or EIN in an ordinary support message. A newly approved form does not remove unrelated payout requirements.
The IRS overview of Form W-9 explains its purpose. For personal tax-status or filing questions, use the IRS guidance or a qualified tax professional.
