Create subscription tiers and choose billing periods
On this page
A tier describes what a subscriber receives. A billing period describes how long they pay for at a time. For example, you could offer a route-library tier and a separate tier with trip-planning files, each with monthly and yearly billing.
Set up the tiers
- Open the product's Details step and choose Subscription under its billing options.
- In Subscription tiers, enter a Tier name and a short description of what it includes.
- Select Add tier for another package. A product can have up to 20 tiers.
- Use Recommend this tier for at most one available tier, if you want to highlight a choice.
- Keep Available to new subscribers selected for tiers you want to offer.
If an older subscription editor shows Price per Month, choose Customize tiers & billing periods to set up tiers. Check the converted details before saving.
Choose how to price each tier
Under How to set prices, choose either:
- Monthly price with discounts: enter a monthly base price, enable the periods you want, and set discounts for longer periods.
- Set each period's full price: enter the entire amount charged for each enabled period.
The periods are 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. Enable at least one for every available tier. Billed upfront is the amount charged for that whole period, not an extra monthly payment. New tier prices must be positive.
For example, a $10 monthly base with a 10% discount for 3 months produces a $27 upfront charge. In full-price mode, entering $27 for 3 months means the same upfront total.
Check access and save
Under the tier's advanced options, choose After the subscription ends: either Keep the last paid version or Access only while subscribed. You can also include content from another tier in this product.
Use Save & Continue, then assign the files and videos in Media & Files. Check Customer preview for every tier and period before submitting.
Change an existing offer carefully
Tier names, access rules, and content changes can need review. Existing subscribers keep their contracted price; changing an offer is not permission to charge them the new price. To stop new signups for a saved tier, clear Available to new subscribers. Use Remove unsaved tier only for a new tier that has not been saved.
See Assign tier content, Pricing and refund policies, and Update a published product.
