Hyatt Adds Over 20 Bahia Principe All-Inclusive Resorts to World of Hyatt

Hyatt expanded its all-inclusive footprint significantly by bringing Bahia Principe Hotels and Resorts into the World of Hyatt ecosystem. The addition covers more than 20 properties, most of them in the Caribbean and Mexico.

The resorts span Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the Riviera Maya in Mexico, and Jamaica. World of Hyatt members can now book stays using points, with award nights starting at 12,000 points per night at select properties.

The deal follows Hyatt's broader push into the all-inclusive segment. Earlier this year, the company completed its Playa Hotels acquisition and purchased three Alua resorts in Europe for $140 million, entering long-term management agreements for the majority of the properties.

The timing aligns with a shift in traveler demand. Following security incidents in Puerto Vallarta in late February, roughly 90 percent of travelers who canceled Mexico trips are choosing entirely different destinations rather than rebooking Mexico for later dates. Caribbean and Central American destinations are seeing booking increases of about 50 percent year-over-year.

For loyalty program members, the expansion means more options for point redemptions in warm-weather destinations heading into summer.
