Amtrak has completed about $8 million in improvements at its Norman and Pauls Valley stations in Oklahoma, including accessible walkways and upgraded boarding platforms.

Both stations serve the Heartland Flyer between Fort Worth, Texas, and Oklahoma City. The trains stop at Norman and Pauls Valley twice daily.

The $3 million Norman project includes a 300-foot platform with reinstalled brick pavers and accessible paths connecting the platform with the station building.

At Pauls Valley, the $5 million project includes a 290-foot concrete boarding platform with an embedded brick paver surface.

Both stations now have sloped accessible walkways, safety barriers, LED platform lighting, detectable warning systems and new signs.

For passengers using wheeled mobility devices, strollers or rolling luggage, the improvements provide a level surface for moving through the stations.
