Save a draft or schedule an Insight
On this page
Save your work as a draft when you need more time. If the article is ready, you can request a future publication time instead of immediate publication.
Save and return to a draft
- Give the Insight a title.
- Select Save as Draft.
- Wait for the save confirmation before leaving the editor.
- To continue later, open Travel Insights, choose Draft, and open the article for editing.
The editor also offers autosave while you work on a draft. Check the saved indicator and use Save as Draft before closing the page, especially after changing photos or a large section of text. An unfinished draft does not need all the details required for publication.
Choose a publication time
When scheduling is available in the editor:
- Open the arrow beside Publish Now.
- Choose a suggested time or pick a custom date and time.
- Check the time zone displayed beside Publication time.
- For a custom choice, select Schedule to apply it.
- Review the date shown on the main publication button, then select that button to submit the article.
Choosing a date in the menu alone does not submit the Insight. The completed article still needs to pass review. Check its status afterward rather than assuming the requested time guarantees publication.
Change your plan
To remove the selected time before submitting, open the scheduling menu and choose Publish now instead. You can also save the work as a draft if it is not ready.
Be careful with Save as Draft on an already published Insight. The editor asks whether to take it offline. Use that option only when you intend to remove the public version.
See Write your first Insight for submission requirements and Revise a published Insight for changes to an article already online.
