Complete an identity check
On this page
A photo-ID check is separate from entering your seller details and bank account. TrekGuider can request it after that initial setup, including once you have started making sales. Start from the request in Account Verification.
What you will need
Have a government-issued ID and a device with a working camera ready. The Stripe verification window guides you through the document photos and a quick selfie. Use the document types offered for your account.
The capture usually takes about two minutes. Document review is often completed within minutes, but that is an estimate. Some checks need more time or another document.
Complete the check
- Open the identity request in your account.
- Select Verify with Photo ID, Verify now, or Continue, depending on the message shown.
- Allow camera access and follow the photo and selfie instructions in the verification window.
- Finish the requested steps and return to TrekGuider.
- Read the result on the verification page.
Use clear images and follow the capture instructions. Do not send your ID, selfie, or verification link in article comments or a general support message.
Read the result
If the check is being reviewed, wait for the next update. Repeated submissions do not make a review finish faster.
An accepted ID and a fully enabled payout account are different things. If your ID has been accepted while a final payout step remains, follow that message instead of starting another ID check.
If Try again is offered, read the reason before repeating the capture. If the page directs you to support, include the message and the step you reached, without identity images or access links.
For a window that will not open, check your connection and camera permissions. Tell support your device and browser if it still fails.
