SAS Launches Daily Copenhagen-Istanbul Nonstop on the A320neo

Scandinavian Airlines launched daily nonstop service between Copenhagen Airport and Istanbul Airport in late March, operated with Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The route fills a gap in SAS's network by connecting Scandinavia directly to Turkey's largest city, a destination that combines strong leisure appeal with growing business travel demand. Istanbul serves as a gateway to broader Turkey and onward connections to Central Asia and the Middle East.
The A320neo's range and fuel efficiency make it well-suited for the roughly four-hour flight. SAS offers business class and economy on the route, with fares starting around 250 euros round-trip in economy during off-peak periods.
The launch comes as SAS completes its integration into the SkyTeam alliance following its acquisition by Air France-KLM. Copenhagen passengers now have smoother connections to SkyTeam partners at Istanbul Airport, which Turkish Airlines uses as its own SkyTeam hub.
For Nordic travelers, the new route provides a competitive alternative to Turkish Airlines' existing Copenhagen service, adding schedule choice and the option to earn SAS EuroBonus points on the route.
