Lufthansa will launch nonstop flights between Columbus, Ohio, and Frankfurt, Germany, on May 5, 2027. It will be Columbus's first nonstop route to Europe.

The Columbus Regional Airport Authority and its partners announced the route on October 19. Flights will connect John Glenn Columbus International Airport with Frankfurt Airport.

Service will run three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Bookings are scheduled to open October 20, 2026.

Lufthansa plans to use a Boeing 787 with its Allegris cabins. The aircraft will have 28 lie-flat business class seats, 28 premium economy seats and 231 economy seats.

For travelers continuing beyond Germany, the airport authority says Lufthansa's Frankfurt hub offers connections to more than 130 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
