Understand payment methods and currencies

Purchases, subscriptions, and balance top-ups on TrekGuider are charged in US dollars (USD). There is no checkout currency selector. Seller payout currency is a separate part of payout setup.

Choose a payment method

Checkout can offer cards and other eligible payment methods. Saved methods may show labels such as Link, Cash App Pay, Amazon Pay, or PayPal, as well as the card brand. Only the methods actually offered for your purchase can be used.

Availability depends on the order and payment account. Do not expect every named method in every country or on every device. Some options that work for a one-time purchase are not available for subscriptions.

You may also be offered Wallet balance or a split between your TrekGuider spending balance and another method. Subscription checkout can still require a saved method for future renewals, even when nothing is due today.

Manage saved methods in Account Settings > Payment Methods. Adding one there does not guarantee that it will be available for every checkout or replace every existing recurring payment arrangement.

Paying from a non-USD account

Your bank or wallet may convert the USD charge into your account currency and apply a conversion fee. That conversion is separate from the product price and any TrekGuider discount. Review your provider's confirmation if you need the local amount.

Receiving a seller payout

The payout setup form names the currency your receiving account needs to accept. Local options can differ from the USD amounts shown in your TrekGuider balance and withdrawal summary.

Currency conversion can affect the final local payout and add a cost. Check the recorded settlement amount in Withdrawal Details when available. Do not assume a bank account in another currency will receive the same number of currency units.
