Allegiant Air Unveils 30-Route Expansion Across 35 Cities
Allegiant Air announced a 30-route expansion across 35 cities, the largest single-day route launch in the carrier's history. The new flights begin staggered service from May through October and target underserved midsize markets.
The expansion includes new service from secondary airports such as Provo, Utah; Bozeman, Montana; and Concord, North Carolina, to leisure destinations including Las Vegas, Orlando-Sanford, Punta Gorda, and Phoenix-Mesa. Most routes will run two or three times weekly using Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
Allegiant continues its model of avoiding direct competition with legacy carriers at major hubs. The company says 26 of the 30 routes will be the only nonstop option in their market, a strategy that has kept Allegiant profitable through fuel-price swings that have hit larger carriers harder.
One-way introductory fares start at $39 on most routes, with the usual Allegiant baggage and seat-selection fees applied on top. The airline's Allways Rewards program offers a free checked bag and priority boarding for cardholders.
For travelers in smaller markets, the expansion means meaningful new options without an extra connection. Allegiant's reliability metrics have improved over the past two years after a difficult 2023, but travelers should still build flexibility into their schedules given the limited weekly frequency of most routes.
