About

Camilo Ruiz is the creator behind lowlifewreck, a channel documenting his End the Rat Race charity walk across the United States. Readers can explore the journey through video journals, shorts, behind-the-scenes moments and route updates. The focus is a long-distance walk with a fundraising purpose, combining the practical demands of moving on foot with a project about making a decisive change in life.

The End the Rat Race journey

According to the project’s about page, Ruiz began walking on March 9, 2026. The journey was planned as a solo, roughly 3,100-mile walk from Orlando, Florida, to Seattle, Washington. End the Rat Race frames that undertaking as a test of the idea that one sharp decision can reroute a life.

That original distance is a planning figure, not the same as the later recorded mileage. The route page’s October 2, 2026 update listed 4,119.5 miles walked and 90 miles remaining. Those numbers describe a dated snapshot, rather than confirming arrival in Seattle.

What lowlifewreck documents on the road

KCRR identifies @lowlifewreck as Ruiz’s official YouTube channel and describes its output as daily video journals, shorts and behind-the-scenes moments from the walk. These formats let viewers follow individual stages and the work of sustaining the journey, rather than seeing only its starting point and intended destination.

The physical demands are especially clear in KCRR’s June 10, 2026 report. It described Ruiz reaching Iowa on day 91 after a 27-mile stage from Powersville, Missouri. He pushed a 100-pound supply cart through thick mud, humidity and rolling gravel hills. Iowa marked his sixth state-line crossing, and that stage brought him to Nine Eagles State Park.

Montana coverage and the walking perspective

In its September 9, 2026 coverage, 96.3 The Blaze reported that Ruiz was averaging roughly 20 to 30 miles a day while pushing his gear cart. It also placed his passage through Three Forks, Montana, in late August 2026.

The article highlighted his social video updates as a walking-level view of Montana. Hills, highway stretches, small towns and mountain passes become parts of a sustained journey rather than scenery passed quickly in a vehicle. This gives the content a useful sense of scale and pace, alongside the mileage totals.

Tracking the route and understanding the cause

The project offers a live route tracker with GPS updates roughly every 30 minutes. Its FAQ explains how to follow the map and directs supporters to the Journey Across America GoFundMe campaign. The tracker complements the videos by showing route progress between published updates.

According to the cause page, donations are split equally: 50% goes to The Singletons, and 50% covers walk expenses such as gear, food, shelter and emergencies. The project describes The Singletons as an Arizona nonprofit supporting single-parent families facing cancer. KCRR’s June report cited a $10,000 fundraising goal, not an amount already raised. The cause page also distinguishes supporting the fundraiser from seeking family services, directing families needing help to The Singletons itself.
