Norwegian Luna Debuts as Fourth Ship in the Prima Class Fleet

Norwegian Luna Debuts as Fourth Ship in the Prima Class Fleet

Norwegian Cruise Line took delivery of the Norwegian Luna in March, the fourth vessel in its Prima class and the latest addition to a fleet that has been steadily growing since 2022.

The ship carries approximately 3,200 passengers and features the line's signature outdoor go-kart track, a three-level racing circuit that loops above the top deck. Specialty dining options include an ocean-view steakhouse, a teppanyaki grill, and an Italian trattoria.

The Prima class ships are slightly smaller than Norwegian's Breakaway-Plus class, allowing access to ports that cannot accommodate the largest cruise vessels. Itineraries for the Luna include Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and Caribbean routes through 2026 and 2027.

The Luna's debut caps a busy March for new cruise ships. Disney Adventure launched from Singapore as the cruise line's largest vessel, and Four Seasons Yachts entered the market with its first ultra-luxury ship. The industry is on track to introduce roughly two dozen new vessels in 2026.

For travelers comparing options, the Norwegian Luna positions itself in the premium-contemporary segment — above mass-market lines but below the ultra-luxury tier where Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton operate.
