ComfortJet Direct Daytime Service Begins Between Prague, Berlin, and Copenhagen

ComfortJet Direct Daytime Service Begins Between Prague, Berlin, and Copenhagen

A new ComfortJet direct daytime service between Prague, Berlin, and Copenhagen entered operation on May 1, offering a one-seat journey across three capital cities and removing a long-standing change at Hamburg or Hannover.

The service runs once daily in each direction, leaving Prague in the early morning and arriving in Copenhagen mid-afternoon. Total journey time is about 12 hours, slower than a connection flight but competitive once airport transit and check-in are factored in.

The ComfortJet trains are operated by Czech Railways and feature an on-board restaurant, Wi-Fi, bicycle and pram spaces, and a children's cinema. First-class seating offers larger tables, power outlets at every seat, and complimentary coffee. Second-class fares from Prague to Copenhagen start around 79 euros when booked at least three weeks ahead.

The route is part of a wider 2026 European rail expansion. Other launches this year include a Stockholm-Copenhagen-Hamburg daytime train, an Amsterdam-Milan night service starting in June, and a Brussels-Cologne-Antwerp high-speed link planned for September.

For travelers comparing rail with budget flights, the math now favors trains on most Berlin-anchored routes once luggage fees and transit time to outlying airports are included. Bookings are available through the Czech Railways site and the Interrail global pass.
